An Extension of Circumstance

The components in this series of installations offer interplays between illusion, assumption and what is actual but invisible.

The image of the ‘scintillating gird’ and the retinal blind spot test present the illusionary appearance or disappearance of black dots, and when installed together complement each other in a proposed flow of visible / invisible between each.

The moving image components are real-time unedited recordings of movement of the sun that remains below the threshold of visibility. Their progression can be confirmed by a difference in position that only becomes apparent over an extended period.
